Join the Network
The Aaronsen network consists entirely of engineers with deep, verifiable expertise in specific open source projects. We do not accept generalists. If you have meaningful committer or contributor history in a major open source project and want to take on high-value consulting engagements, we want to hear from you.
Engagements are conducted on a contract basis, fit around your existing commitments, and compensated at rates that reflect the genuine scarcity of your expertise. You work on problems that are hard. You are matched only to engagements within your area of depth.
- Active or former committers to a major open source project
- Maintainers of widely-used libraries or tools
- Engineers with deep subsystem expertise: kernel, storage engine, query planner, language runtime, network stack, crypto layer, etc.
- Ability to diagnose and fix problems in unfamiliar code quickly
- Strong written communication for async remote work
- Available for same-day or next-day urgent engagements
Relevant areas include but are not limited to: Linux kernel, BSD kernels, GNU toolchain, LLVM/Clang, GCC, glibc, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Nginx, Apache httpd, OpenSSL, LibreSSL, CPython, Ruby MRI, V8, Node.js, Go runtime, Rust stdlib, Kubernetes, Docker, containerd, Terraform, Ansible, and similar.
Send an email to info@r381832.con.com with the subject line Commando Network. Include:

- Your availability for short-notice engagements
- Any rate or engagement preferences
We review applications on a rolling basis and respond within a few business days when there is a potential fit.
